A message from our CEO

Hi. 👋 I’m Mayan, Founder & CEO of May and Tay Consulting – a financial services business with a profound passion for the disability sector.

At 17, my life changed overnight when my father was institutionalized during a manic episode of Bipolar disorder. Suddenly, I was balancing high school with after-school shifts at Nandos, trying to cover his living expenses while making sure my younger sister Tayla could still visit him at the mental care unit. We had no guidance about available support or funding – we were just trying to keep our family together.

Years later, the journey continued when my son Luan was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at age four. Those sleepless nights researching treatments, therapies, and how to support him on a single income led me to discover the NDIS. This discovery changed everything – not just for our family, but for my career path too.

Working as an NDIS plan manager, I heard countless stories from families facing the same struggles we had: issues finding reliable providers, feeling isolated, and trying to navigate a complex system without clear guidance. Their stories echoed our own, and I knew there had to be a better way.

So Tayla and I created a business that could provide meaningful support to families like ours. This is how May & Tay Consulting was born.

As a sister duo, with over 10 years of accounting experience across public, private, and non-profit sectors, we offer specialised bookkeeping and management accounting services for businesses within the disability sector. Our lived experience as carers enables us to provide a holistic approach that benefits not only the businesses we serve but also the participants they support.

May & Tay Consulting isn’t just a business for me; it’s a mission born from personal experiences and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those in the disability sector. Our goal is to empower and support families and businesses to thrive both financially and emotionally.

Meet our team

Mayan Maranda, CEO

Mayan brings a unique blend of professional expertise and lived experience to NDIS financial management. As a certified member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, she combines over 10 years of financial leadership across public, private, and non-profit sectors with deep personal understanding of the disability sector as both a carer and family member.
Having dedicated the last 4 years specifically to the disability sector, Mayan has developed extensive knowledge of NDIS systems and pricing structures. Throughout her career, she has led teams and projects across Operations, Technology, HR, and Finance, implementing innovative solutions that drive business success.
Her vision for transforming NDIS financial management comes from walking both sides of the journey – as a financial expert and as someone who’s navigated the NDIS system personally.

Tayla Maranda, Lead Accountant

Has over 10 years experience in financial and management accounting. Tayla has worked in private equity companies, publicly listed companies and small family run businesses and therefore she understands the aspect of all businesses. She holds a bachelor of Accounting with distinction.
Within her various roles Tay has worked with accounting integrations (set ups and customisations), she is proficient in month end reporting, G/L and payroll reconciliations, cashflow’s, balance sheet recs and asset registers. Tay has also assisted with external audits, grants and tenders. She is proficient in developing easy to use procedures for internal use, to create more efficiency. Displays results in a way that is insightful and will influence change where needed.

Ruby

Ruby is a highly skilled payroll and compliance professional known for her precision, systems expertise, and deep understanding of complex award frameworks. As May & Tay’s resident Employment Hero and PayCat guru, Ruby transforms intricate payroll and compliance processes into streamlined, reliable systems that keep businesses running smoothly.
With a sharp eye for detail and an unmatched passion for accuracy, Ruby leads end-to-end payroll operations across multiple entities, ensuring full compliance with Fair Work, SCHADS, and NDIS standards.
Beyond her technical expertise, Ruby brings a calm, solutions-focused approach that builds trust and consistency across every pay cycle. Her work ensures May & Tay’s clients experience the peace of mind that comes with accuracy, transparency, and full compliance.

Rozanne

I have a beautiful son who is 25 years old and requires 24/7 care. He has taught me so much about life and compassion. Our journey has been challenging at times, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. I have learnt so much caring for him since birth.
I started working in the NDIS Sector with a Plan Management Company. I have worked for two other Plan Managing companies since. I also did some work as a Case Manager with a Support Coordinator.
I love working within the NDIS as there is so much to learn and having an extensive knowledge of the NDIS, I have found it so rewarding to be able to help clients.
There are so many questions and navigating the NDIS is huge, but I love to be able to help clients and their families, NDIS Providers and Support coordinators. The NDIS is a very huge area and can be a difficult area to navigate if anyone has limited understanding.

Rozanne has worn many hats throughout her career — from the sports field to the gym floor, and across the office in administration, accounts and plan management. With a background as a gym instructor and extensive experience in business operations, she brings both discipline and heart to everything she does.

As a devoted mother and carer to her son Adam, she understands the NDIS inside and out — not just from a professional standpoint, but through lived experience. Her empathy, resilience, and “heart of gold” shine through in every interaction.

Shannon

Shannon brings a strong background in administration, sales, and NDIS plan management — a combination that makes her the perfect right hand to keep everything running smoothly. Known for her sharp eye and high standards, she’s a bit of a diva when it comes to detail — and that’s exactly what makes her such an exceptional PA.

With the gift of the gab and a natural ability to connect with people, Shan is always ready to assist and keep things on track. When May is out of the office, she’ll be your go-to point of contact — ensuring nothing slips through the cracks and everything gets done with style and precision.
